There is an old saying “the camera never lies”, but they can deceive and mislead. These two images are taken using the same camera and only a few seconds apart. in darkness the camera uses its infra red lamp but when the room lights come on it does not use infra red. The camera reacts differently to the clothing dyes under infra red to normal light.
This is more than just an academic observation. A description of a suspect circulated based on the black and white image would have Police looking for the wrong man and the wrong man may end up being arrested/convicted. We undertake site visits and test the CCTV system in question to determine its performance under all lighting conditions and report with images showing the performance in an easy-to-understand report.
We undertake preliminary assessment for free. We offer a free initial consultation, agree the scope of the work to keep down costs, advise clients on progress, and produce jury friendly reports and give evidence in Court.
